Here is another snapshot of my work also titled Fogland Beach in a 8.5” x 5.5” format. The colors are much more rich and blue.
I usually go for coffee at multiple places, but I had stopped by a local favorite this particular morning that happened to be by the water. I had been stuck and searching for something to paint. As I sat down and looked at the beauty in front of me sipping my coffee I decided to capture this lone boat. Both the caffeine and picture inspired me to paint and I completed this the next morning!
As a musical artist for over 20 years under the name Jamie LaPearle, I explored different musical genres without limitations while manipulating different rhythms and tones to convey my intention and emotion. The visual arts parallel in the way that I feel no marriage to any particular paint mediums such as watercolors, oils or acrylics, to express an idea. I find the flow and ease of the oil enable me to emanate warm, soft, intimate, and inviting pictures. Painting the planes of the human face with oil is uninhibited and creates a lively, yet muted expression.
